As Christian martial artists we have the knowledge that martial arts does not conflict with Christianity, in fact we know martial arts can be used to spread Christianity. But not everyone knows this.
1 Corinthians 8: 1-13, “Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. But the man who loves God is known by God….

Tai Chi originated from China in the 1300s. Most records give credit to Chang San-feng for creating the idea and movements of Tai Chi.
Many believe he was a Shoalin monk who decided to leave the monastery and become a Taoist hermit. On Wu Tang mountain, he gave up the hard fighting style he had learned and formulated a new art based on softness and yielding. One story tells how he had a vision between a snake and a crane….

For Soke Karl Marx self defense is the most important aspect of any martial art, but self-defense is nothing if it doesn’t provide mental and spiritual training….

My name is Marcus Relliford, a.k.a. Rev. Wind. I believe that martial arts are a physical form of spiritually.
In my case, my foundation and hope is in Christ Jesus. I would like to take a minute and share. Walk with me to Matthew 4: 1-11.
Most of us believe or would agree that the two real ultimate fighters are Jesus and Satan.
That is the ultimate fight against good and evil. I often look at this passage and can’t help but see the parallel of two warriors squaring off….

The CAMA teaches Shinsei Hapkido, and will soon be introducing the lissague nunchuck system and the samurai-sword art of shinkendo. They have schools in four locations, three in California, a charter school in Arizona, and soon there will be one in Canton, Ohio, Stieg said.
”We are a certified Karate for Christ School, and all instructors are also certified instructors of Karate for Christ,” said Eric Stieg, 4th dan in Shinsei Hapkido and founder of the CAMA….

Anyone who’s spent time fighting, whether sparring or actually defending one’s self from harm, knows things do not always go according to plan.
People lose their balance, underestimate opponents, get dehydrated, or incorrectly anticipate their opponents’ next move. The very nature of fighting presents a level of unpredictability, which is why real fights should be as short as possible…..
