The Situational Self-Defense Challenge

     As an outlet for Christian martial artists, The Christian Martial Artist provides us the opportunity to discuss and perfect our styles of martial arts.     As we add more videos about various techniques, we are introducing the Situational Self-Defense Challenge. Each issue we will present “What-If Scenario” and we challenge everyone to submit a video demonstrating the best way to escape the situation and why your way is the best. Understanding the Hurricane

     One of the few downsides of living in the beautiful, sunny state of Florida is hurricane season.
     Those of us that actually lived through storms like Hurricane Andrew and witnessed the destruction left behind know how quickly lives can be turned upside down.
     The strange thing about hurricanes though is that they usually have a defined eye that passes over you once the outer bands that bring the rain and winds have passed. The eye of the storm is quiet and safe; the skies turn blue, the sun shines, all is normal. It is definitely better to be at the calm, safe, center of the storm than experiencing it’s punishing, whipping winds and rains at the outer edges.
     Well, God’s will is exactly like the hurricane’s eye….
